Dedicated to Carl Estrin
"What I Wish Love Was"
feel no pity
an inanimate object
a lingering idea
I want to fall in love with lights
or buildings
and or streets
that will be there now
and after I'm gone
I want to walk down streets
feeling fulfilled
by no one
by where I am
But a bullet's not a clean kill
And nothing can be a true thrill
That never moves
No matter how much we want it to stay put
Men and women were never
meant to fall in love with statues
with cities and lights

What a beautiful tribute.
I love you eliot and am very proud of you.
love
